Actor Katherine Heigl is opening up about how she was raised in the "white bubble" and how the realisation has impacted how she raises her multiracial adopted children. In an interview, she said recently that, in terms of skin colour, it doesn't really matter. But after speaking to her sister who is adopted in South Korea she realized just the way society views people of different races. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated one way when she went going out with us parents and a different way when she went out by herself without them. She replied "Oh, yes, every moment!" Heigl admitted to parents, "That made me realise that I had been so ignorant." Heigl said she got upset and believed it was crucial to put her anger towards helping the adopted children she has. Sheigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. 4 have been together for thirteen years. Their daughter was adopted by them Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide 8 years old who is Black and was adopted in 2012.
