The mid-1990s saw her begin dancing and performing professionally at Boulder's Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. In Minnesota she was employed at a regional theater where her character was in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) was a comedy documentary that focused on beauty magazines. After making her screen debut as a ditzy but good-natured contestant, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Also, she raised Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began when she signed an MGM contract in the mid-1940s. The actress was discovered through actress Norma Shearer. The actress portrayed Norma in a few popular movies through the years, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho from 1960 and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film which was released in 1954.
