Richard Bruce Cheney is the child of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941 on the outskirts of Lincoln Nebraska. In 1941, when Richard Bruce Cheney reached the age of 13 the family of Richard Bruce Cheney left Lincoln Nebraska and moved to Casper Wyoming where his father was the head of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's local soil conservation districts.
